Resumo

Study case with the objective to analyse the hidraulic efficiency of the Aclimação Square's lake acting as a flood reservoir. Also analyses generalities about social and economic impacts of it's implantation. In the elaboration, was used brazilian bibliography, reading and interpretation of informations obtained from the municipal environment atlas of São Paulo, oficial maps and charts. The case in study can be consider as a typology of constructions for flood management, noting the traditional study standards in the bibliography and comproved experiences.
