Resumo

The quantification of the amount of water produced in a watershed, for a particular precipitation is can from the knowledge of the physiography, the use and occupation of land within their watershed and atmospheric conditions, may be performed estimates of flood events from calculating the flow produced. The objective was to identify the surface runoff produced by different configurations of land cover in the basin contribution to watercourse intercepted by state highway on the border the municipalities of Osvaldo Cruz and Parapuã in the State of São Paulo, Brasil taking into seen be a Record of flooding at the site of interception, with rupture of the roadbed in December 2009. The characterization of the use and occupation of land was prepared through a vector image scanning Google Earth dated may 2013, LANDSAT 5 being analyzed to verify changes in land cover in 2009, which could contribute a significant increase in surface runoff; slope map was produced from SRTM image; Information precipitation events were collected at the CIIAGRO (Center for Integrated Agrometeorological Information) and the meteorological station located in the municipality of Adamantina/SP; pedological map of the State of São Paulo was used to verification the type of soil in the region. The data were processed with use the software ArcGIS and Surfer, being assigned different scenarios of use of the soil for heavy precipitation events in order to verify the production of surface runoff that could contribute to flow above the flow capacity of the existing culvert under the highway Comandante João Ribeiro de Barros (34.25 m³/s - before the disruption of the roadbed) and after renovation works introduction culvert of rectangular concrete double 3.0 x 3.0 meters and manhole circular metal with a diameter of 4.5 meters, dimensioned to withstand flow of 198.47 m³/s, corresponding to a hydraulic load of 1.2 times the height of the sections. Results preliminary indicated significant increase surface runoff in an area with exposed soil (post-harvest culture cane sugar) in December 2009, which contributed to the increase in flow stream, causing flooding the upstream and disruption of embankment of the highway.
