Resumo
Remote Sensing is the most potential surrogate technologies to estimate suspended-sediment concentration(SSC).The effects of sediment size on remote sensing reflectance arepoorlydocumented and the hysteresis in relationsofSSC ?Reflectance in inland waters is an example that particlesize distribution (PSD)affect the accuracy of retrieval model. Hysteresis was performed and quantified for a 3 dataset that includetime series(2000-2017)ofMODIS remote sensing data,suspended-sediment concentration and concurrent measurements of radiometry in situ, SSC and volumetric PSD during two hydrologic periods (rise and flood) in Madeira river basin.Annualmonthly average show hysteresis in three tributariesand the main channelindifferent range of SSC and reflectance.Regressionsof SSC-normalized reflectance (Ref/SSC) on concurrently measured PSD percentiles show the influence of particle size on reflectanceespecially smaller sizes (finer than 15 ?m).
