Resumo
The dynamics of tidal inlets is a relevantsubjectin SedimentEngineering, since the behavior of a coastal lagoon is highly affected bywhat happens in its maritime connection.Thiswork presents astudy on the sedimentological processes on a tidal inletusing computational modeling. The case study is a channel, hypotheticaluntilnow,projected on the westside of Araruama Lagoon, which is locatedonthe southeast coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro.Implementing this tidal inlet would be an alternative for increasing the hydrodynamic circulation and the water renovation in this coastal lagoon, whichis often eutrophicated. The analyses presented in this document evaluate mainly the influence of littoral processes on the hydro-sedimentary stability of this inlet
