Resumo
When reservoirs are built, they are subject to some degree of silting, as they increase the wet area and decrease the flow velocity, thus reducing the sediment's sustaining forces. A mechanism to evaluate reservoir siltation is through physical models, which also provide data for validation of numerical models. Therefore, a reduced model of a Small Hydroelectric Power Plant (SHP) was constructed and, for this model, its Manning?scoefficient was calibrated, since this coefficient is one of the parameters that must be informed to the numerical model. The best value found for Manning was 0.01, and this value allowed for depths measured in the reduced model close to those simulated in the HEC-RAS, in addition to the flow having the same behavior in both cases, real and simulated.
