Resumo

In recent years the incidence of natural disasters in the country has increased considerably. Because of this scenario, the need to avoid recurrence of these events and to enable communities to cope with intense natural phenomena, without causing catastrophic damage, becomes a subject of extreme relevance. The Itajaí valley suffers recurrently with hydrogeological phenomena that result in problems that directly affect the population. It is remarkable the impossibility of displacement due to interdictions in the roads, due to mass landslides and floods of roads. In 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017, the number of people affected was high due to the magnitude of these events, which led to the Santa Catarina State University, Higher Education Center of the Upper Vale do Itajaí, to the cancellation of their activities. This work aimed to propose a methodology that can, through the knowledge of the situation of the students, teachers and technicians, help in the decision making regarding the suspension of activities. After analyzing the data, alternative routes were proposed that were not associated with the risk areas of the main highways.
