Resumo
The Acre River basin has recently seen intensification of extreme flood and drought events. The Acre River Basin Hydrological Alert System, operated by the Geological Survey of Brazil (SGB / CPRM), aims to contribute to ensuring that governmental and civil defense bodies, as well as society in general, Have access to reliable information and assertive decisions during critical events. This article presents the main tools that make up this alert system, such as the hydrological monitoring network, the set of prediction models, the means of issuing reports and the platform for publication of data and information, contributing to the improvement and evolution of this and other similar alert systems.
