Resumo

Preventing and combating flooding is an increasingly frequent theme in planning municipalities and macrodrainage works are significant structural measures for this aspect. This paper aims to show the already completed works, such as the diversion channel in the Rio Cubatão Norte Basin (BHRCN) and the improvement of macrodrainage of the Morro Alto River. Some construction in progress will be discussed, as the implementation of the increase of macro-drainage of the Mathias River and its problems. There are still many projects that need to be executed in other basins that will be carried out in the coming years due to the release of IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) funding for these works.
