Resumo

After the largest and most serious environmental accident in Brazil, the disaster in the dam occurred in Mariana/MG in 2015, the situation of the dams of mining tailings installed in the country were highlighted due to the great risk inherent in these structures. The SNISB was created prior to the disaster. In 2012 guidelines were established for the operation of the National Dam Safety System with the initial objective of grouping and having control over the minimum information provided by the entrepreneurs of these structures. The Triangulo Mineiro/Alto Paranaíba mesoregion has several mining tailings dams, mainly in the micro-regions of Patos de Minas and Araxá. Therefore, the verification of the information presented in the SNISB by the entrepreneurs and later checked by the supervisory bodies is fundamental to enable greater control of the security and stability requirements of these structures, in addition to bringing the discussion to the academy. It is also important to collect the information that is provided by the entrepreneurs and responsible for the dams and the verification of the relevant legislation.
