Resumo
This study aimed to compare patterns of extreme rainfall obtained from two gridded databases (CHIRPS and Xavier) with data from rain gauge stations in the state of Rio Grande do Sul retrieved via the HIDROWEB portal (ANA). For spatial comparison, two methodologies were adopted: a Localized Comparison Approach (LCA) and a Spatial Comparison Approach (SCA). Spatializations were performed using the IDW method and Kriging. The performance of these different models was evaluated using RMSE and MAPE metrics through cross-validation (LOOCV). Finally, using the best interpolation technique obtained, Intensity-Duration-Frequency Curves (IDFs) for precipitation were generated for all municipalities in the state. A web application was made available to access the generated IDF curves. (https://cassiorampinelli.shinyapps.io/IDFs_RS_EN/).
