Resumo

The need for sustainable use of water resources in the semi-arid region of Brazil has widened in such a way that it has been considered by some as the most problematic in the world. Faced with this fact, it is becoming increasingly necessary to analyze water sustainability. This paper presents the pioneering application of the Watershed Sustainability Index (WSI) in the sub-basin located in the Brazilian semi-arid region. The methodology was effective in the analysis and the results classified in the score of 0.5 presented the reality of an average sustainability
