Resumo
Evapotranspiration (ET) plays a crucial role in the water and energy balance of ecosystems. Accurate measurement of total ET is essential for understanding and managing water resources and addressing the challenges posed by climate change. In this study, we present a comprehensive bibliometric analysis that investigates the trends and advancements in the use of Eddy Covariance associated with evapotranspiration research in Brazil. Our methodology comprises three main phases. Firstly, we conducted a systematic search and analysis of relevant literature in the Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases. Secondly, we employed the RStudio software and Bibliometrix library to extract and analyze the collected data. Lastly, we conducted a detailed bibliometric analysis of author keywords and keyword plus to gain insights into the main themes and emerging topics in this research domain. From a pool of 62 selected papers, our analysis revealed a diverse range of topics being addressed within the scientific community. These topics encompass various aspects of evapotranspiration research, including key issues of significant importance, such as water resources management and the mitigation of climate change impacts. The findings underscore the relevance and growing significance of Eddy Covariance research in addressing broader environmental challenges. Furthermore, this study sets the stage for future investigations, including a systematic review, to delve deeper into the emerging challenges and perspectives in this field.
