This paper highlights the significance of effective discoloration risk management within water distribution systems in order to guide water utilities. It presents a comprehensive framework aimed at managing discoloration risks by identifying potential causes of discoloration, evaluating the severity of the risk, devising prevention and mitigation strategies, implementing and monitoring these strategies, and regularly assessing their effectiveness.
