Resumo

The classification of water bodies in preponderant and more restrictive classes of use makes it possible to meet multiple uses and manage sustainable water resources. In this way, we sought to apply the ICE to evaluate compliance with the water quality parameters related to the transitional framework in the Coxipó River basin in Cuiabá/MT along stretches impacted by anthropic action and to study a contribution proposal for the effectiveness and improvement of the framework targets addressed to CBH Cuiabá ME. The ICE classification was regular and poor, with the main non-compliant parameters being: Turbidity, Total Phosphorus (PT) and Fecal Contamination Indicator. Even so, the average rate of compliance with the standards established by the transitional framework was 73.45%. The proposal for an alternative framework indicated a program to implement the goals based on actions for the prevention, control and recovery of water quality and soil erosion in the watershed, with recommendations on acts related to the management of water resources and the environment and, including generating transparent and binding obligations for Sanitation Service Providers, managers and users.
