Reservoirs are of great importance in society, and their monitoring is of paramount importance to ensure good water quality and to prolong their lifetime. In this context, this work aims to evaluate the use of dredging and reforestation for the management of silting of the reservoir, having as a case study a reservoir for public supply. In this research, the RESCON 2 model was used, designed to evaluate silting rate control scenarios. For this purpose, 4 scenarios were drawn. The first one was the dredging since the implementation of the reservoir, the second with the reservoir being dredged every 5 years after 2023, the third with reforestation after 2023, and the fourth was the combination of the last two scenarios. It was concluded that the most advantageous scenario is when dredging with reforestation is used, because of the maintenance of the useful volume of the reservoir in the short term, decreases sedimentation in the long term thanks to the reforestation of the rivers upstream, considering the effectiveness of 15% reduction in sedimentation by reforestation an area of 352 ha. The analysis using RESCON 2 seems to be fast and efficient for pre-analysis or when the complete geometry of the reservoir is not well defined, being important to complement the information, as well as to compare results, with 2D or 3D analysis programs.
