Resumo
This study presents some applications of Dyenamic, a automatic dye tracing software which has is designed to analyze gravity currents from laboratory experiments and numerical models. Dyenamic tracks flow features of dye-coloured experimental setups. Through video observations obtained with standard cameras (e.g. professional cameras or cell phones), the software is capable to analyze in details the evolution of gravity currents excited in rectangular tanks, providing detailed results about the dynamic of gravity currents (e.g. velocity and water density field) and their influence on the erodible beds (e.g. horizontal sediment transport and sediment resuspension). This paper shows different results provided by the software, indicating that the software is capable to draw a detailed characterization of gravity currents, reveling many fundamental mechanisms of fluid flows that are present in gravity current phenomenon.
